No matter if you’re trying to successfully navigate an asteroid field (the odds of which are approximately 3,720 to 1 by the way) or to create a new product, remember that every innovative idea was impossible before someone made it happen.

Don’t wait for opportunities to present themselves. Be proactive and make your own luck. After all, if you don’t ask the answer is always no.

Just because something is common practice doesn’t mean it’s the best practice. That is not to say throw all convention out of the window, but you never know what gems lie off the beaten track until you explore it.
